Privacy Policy

Wastewag ("we") operates a weekly dog-waste pickup and PoopCheck™ visual stool monitoring service in Orange County, California. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights. It applies to wastewag.com, our text messages, our emails, our PoopCheck reports, and any in-person service we perform at your property.

• Account information: name, service address, email, phone, dog name(s), breed, age, plan selection, billing details.
• Service photographs: photos of dog waste taken in your yard during PoopCheck-enabled visits. We aim to exclude people, faces, license plates, and identifying signage from these photos.
• PoopCheck outputs: AI-generated scores, descriptions, and recommendations derived from those photos.
• Visit metadata: timestamp, technician, route, notes, completion status, weather and gate-access notes.
• Device and usage data: IP address, browser, device type, page views, referrers, and cookies as you use the website.
• Communications: messages you send us by email, SMS, web form, or phone.

We do not knowingly collect medical, biometric, or veterinary-clinic records about your pets.PoopCheck does not perform laboratory testing, parasite screening, or any chemical analysis.

• To schedule, route, perform, and document waste-pickup visits.
• To generate PoopCheck reports using third-party AI/computer-vision providers.
• To send transactional SMS and email (visit confirmations, completion notices, PoopCheck reports, billing).
• To bill you and prevent fraud, chargebacks, and abuse.
• To improve, train, and benchmark our internal AI prompts and scoring methodology, using de-identified photos and outputs.
• To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

PoopCheck photos are uploaded to a private, access-controlled storage bucket. Customer-facing report pages show photos blurred by default behind a unique, revocable share link. Photos and prompts are sent to third-party model providers (e.g., the Lovable AI Gateway and underlying vision/LLM models) solely to produce a score and written commentary. We do not sell your photos and do not use them to identify or profile people.

You may request deletion of specific photos or all PoopCheck history by emailing hello@wastewag.com. Deletion does not affect aggregated, de-identified statistics already produced.

• Service providers: payment processors, SMS provider (Twilio), email provider (Postmark / Lovable Emails), cloud hosting, database (Supabase), and AI inference providers, each acting on our behalf under contractual confidentiality.
• Legal: when required by law, subpoena, or to protect our rights, safety, or property, or to investigate fraud or abuse.
• Business transfer: in connection with a merger, sale, or asset transfer, subject to this Policy.
• We do not sell your personal information as that term is defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA).

California residents have the right to (a) know what personal information we collect and how we use it, (b) request a copy of that information, (c) request deletion, (d) correct inaccurate information, and (e) opt out of "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising (we do not share for that purpose). To exercise a right, email hello@wastewag.comfrom the email associated with your account. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling the request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

When you provide a phone number or email you consent to transactional messages including PoopCheck reports. Reply STOP to opt out of SMS; use the unsubscribe link in any email. Opting out of notifications does not cancel paid service.

We use first-party cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and measure site performance. You can disable cookies in your browser, but parts of the Service may not function.

We retain account, billing, and visit records while your account is active and for up to seven (7) years afterward for tax, accounting, and dispute-resolution purposes. PoopCheck photos may be retained for up to 24 months and then deleted or fully de-identified, unless you request earlier deletion.

We use industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards including encryption in transit, role-based access, row-level security on our database, and signed time-limited URLs for private photos. No system is perfectly secure; you use the Service at your own risk and should keep your account credentials confidential.

The Service is intended for adults 18+. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this Policy. Material changes will be posted here and, where appropriate, emailed.
